Water scarcity a perennial problem in Ludhiana
Posted on June 6th, 2009 No commentsLudhiana Summer brings along water and power scarcity and the situation in the city is no different. Although residents start feeling the heat from April, it is during May and June that the situation goes out of control. Engineered Modifications to extend life of centrifugal pump
Posted on May 13th, 2009 No commentsModifications can be made to many older pumps to improve on their original design. Pump rebuilders with experienced engineering staffs can provide these modifications and upgrades to substantially extend mean time between repair (MTBR) and increase pump longevity. Rainwater collection saves landscapes during drought
Posted on January 9th, 2009 No commentsJeff Pico, a landscaper in McDonough, Ga., is changing the entire focus of his business in order to combat drought conditions. Pico, owner of JP Landscapes, Inc., which also does business as Rain Or Shine Outdoors, is focusing on a couple of areas in which homeowners can save, and even collect, irrigation water. Maybe it’s because Pico grew up in Arizona, or maybe it’s because he feels that conserving water is the right thing to do in a world where it is a scarce commodity, but in any case, he is committed. Part of his change of focus is forced by an economic downturn which has stalled his normal installation business, but that has only stiffened his resolve.

Installing Check Valves in Submersible Pumps
Posted on January 3rd, 2009 No commentsCheck valves permit water flow in one direction only and generally are recommended for all submersible pump installations. Their purpose is to prevent the water in the column above the pump and in the pressure tank from draining back into the well when the pump shuts off. Some submersible pumps have built-in check valves and are suitable for operation without an external check valve, provided the pump setting is not too deep. Consult your pump manufacturer concerning proper application and installation. Read the rest of this entry »
